Working 9am to 5pm (or more like 9:30/10am to 7:30, 8:30, 10:30pm…) consists of me sitting in front of the computer typing and clicking away. Don’t get me wrong – I love my little computer and the work I do, but it means that I’m inactive for most of my hours during the workweek. And while I try to get myself to workout at least 3 times a week, my long work hours and my 2 hour+ commute every day can, many times, make it impossible for me to have the energy to even think about sweating.
But I’m a Capricorn. That means that we
love obsess over setting goals for ourselves and working hard to meet them, whether personal or work-related. That’s why when Garmin reached out to me to try out their new fitness tracker, vívofit 2, I jumped at the opportunity. I’ll tell you why:
- The tracker learns your activity level and proposes a personalized daily goal for the number of steps you need to take each day. This is probably what I’ve been utilizing the most, checking to see if I have met my goal or not (and then figuring out ways to meet my daily goal, such as taking breaks to walk outside during the work day or coming home and walking around in my neighborhood).
- The tracker reminds you to stay active. This is super helpful in the office, as I can easily get lost with work and let hours go by without getting up from my desk.
- They’ve partnered with Jonathan Adler to create a collection of stylish, printed interchangeable bands for the vívofit 2 tracker. I swapped in the blue band so that my tracker would coordinate with the rest of my outfit.
