Velvet and Leather for Rue Magazine’s Party

Top + Blazer: Zara // Shorts: Karl Lagerfeld for Macy’s (similar style) // Shoes: Givenchy // Purse: Rebecca Minkoff Python MAC Clutch // Sunglasses: Oliver Peoples // Necklace: Francesca’s Collections // Watch: Michael Kors // Bracelets: BCBG, Target, H&M, Vintage // Rings: BCBG, Low Luv x Erin Wasson // Earrings: Kate Spade

I was so excited when I saw that the weather cooled down a bit here in the Bay Area so I could pull out some of my first fall purchases! I’ve been dreaming up this outfit ever since I found this lovely gray velvet top at Zara last month when I was in NYC. I added the pink statement necklace for a touch of femininity to an otherwise rough and edgy look.

After work, I headed to into San Francisco to celebrate Rue Magazine‘s first anniversary at H.D. Buttercup in SOMA. Let me tell you–Rue Magazine knows how to throw a party, especially on a Monday night! Not only was H.D. Buttercup a great place for the large crowd, but one of my favorite food trucks (Curry Up Now) was serving food. Champagne a plenty, food, and a full candy bar combined with great company and great tunes = a very happy Maria. Happy birthday, Rue Magazine! Thanks for a good time.

With Santina and Angie. These two always have me laughing!

  1. Hey there, I think your blog might be having browser compatibility issues. When I take a look at your blog in Firefox, it looks fine but when opening in Web Explorer, it has some overlapping. I just wanted to give you a quick heads up! Other then that, superb blog!

  2. You looked amazing last night. I had so very much fun hanging out with you…per usual:-) I have been thinking about that velvet top all day. I can’t wait to see what other ways you are going to style it.

    xo.
